PMMV performs Medical Missions in the 70 poorest provinces of Thailand.
It has large ‘Mobile Medical Mission Teams’, often consisting of dozens of trucks and hundreds of Volunteer doctors and nurses. These are either general medical missions or dental medical missions. One related activity is Cataract Surgery Missions for which all surgery equipment (several trucks) is brought in and all the Volunteer doctors. nurses, mission staff (in this case: doctors & nurtses are mostly of Ramathibodi Hospital and Medical Faculty of Mahidol University, Bangkok) are flown in. The Catract Surgery Missions are always on weekends or public holidays as this is the only time when the hospital can accommodate helping up to 200 patients and their families.
