Golf Tournament: at the Eastern Star Golf Club with 2 shotgun starts of team of four at 6.45 hours and 12.45 hours

Run down of the event: from 6 in the morning organizers Mike Franklin managing the over-all event assisted by Marliese Fritz from RCES at the team registration desk and many good souls started setting up the reception and registration table in the lobby of the Eastern Golf Club outside Bang Chang and from around 6 o'clock onwards the first players and teams started trickling in, obtaining starting time and a free golf cart for free with the assignment of very charming and helpful four lady caddies to each team. Overcast skies bar one short spell of a shower the day remained rain free 6.45 hours the siren sounded for the first tee-off. The same procedures were repeated at for the tee-off at 12.45 hours for the second batch. The tournament finished in time and in good spirit due to an excellent organization and administration. The greens were in excellent condition. Total registered teams in the morning 13 and the afternoon 23 teams took to their respective 'first hole'.

The evening event at the Pinnacle Resort started at 18 hours and finished when the last left. Food on the Buffet display was a wide and excellent selection. Ingo Räuber, General Manager and Director of Operation was seen all night looking after his over 400 guests. MC for the night, young Toni Malhotra kept things rolling, at best of times never easy with so many prices to distribute. Cindy Burbridge gave a touching summary of the Camilian Center's work for HIV Aids infected children in their care. A splendid summary of a most colourful and highly interesting life dedicated to charity and promotion of golf of the vivacious by Mike Franklin, now in his sixth life cycle. He did the price-giving ceremony personally, had a hearty handshake for all recipients. Bottom Line: at the end of the night it was revealed that the proceeds exceeded THB 1.1 Million

In word our own cause: We, the members of the RCES are proud to have been involved in more than one way with this great "Mike Franklin Charity Event". We note with pride, to have been the only principal "Gold Sponsor" with no commercial capital to draw from to help in our endeavors the poor and those in need. That we were chosen as a 'Rotary Club' to administer finances and supervise the distribution of the funds to the beneficiaries gives us special fulfilment. Ceremony Party: at the Pinnacle Hotel Jomtien – consisted. Musical Life Band with a singer and the Pinnacle Dance Group performance. The team photographs taken by Star Photo during the day on the golf course were run perpetually on the oversized silver screen throughout the evening's event. A splendid fire-work of the Pinnacle Resort and the obligatory and unaccountable great prices sold through "lucky draw" (ticket sales exceeding THB 100k. The first price for two to Dubai and back was sponsored by Gulf Air - John Evans. Technical Hole Sponsors: each hole had at one, in some cases even two. The "Hole in One" price a T-Pod Trident-Car (US$ 25k) remained unclaimed. In addition each team and so each player received a Set (Team) photograph the latest wireless photographic technology featuring an instant 'camera to print' process by Star photos. The evening fizzled out, with guests happy, fulfilled to have contributed to good causes, paired with fund and socializing.
Financial control and administration: RCES were the body to control the takings and distribution of all funds to the beneficiaries.
