Handing over the Drinking Water Filter at the School Ban Soong Nern February 21, 2007

January 31 - P Marliese Fritz and her husband Heinz drove to Nit and Peter Rottmann, both Rotarians of our Rotary Sister Club Krasang, to order the preparation for the installation of an equipment for filtering drinking water. First they needed a pump, required for bringing up the water out of the earth. Also the pipes in the ground had to be replaced and this took time till late in the evening. Next morning the electric connections were made and after the transfer of the water to both tanks, the water was in working order! After this we gave order to build a water basin out of which the water could be scooped. Doing so, it would make sense to install the filter equipment at our next visit.
February 20 - P Marliese Fritz with Heinz and their friend Reinhard Beckhaus, Rtn.Toy Ryser and PE Steve Ryser, Aad and Witha Scholtes, our Honorary members with their friends Micki and Hans, drove to the school.
The water basin was build and we yet only had to install the taps and the filter equipment with the pressure pump!
February 21 - Now the Drinking Water was running! This has to be celebrated and therefore a nice meal for all the children was cooked. The 222 children were very patient while in high expectation of the delicious food and first they pray of thanks for all the good things. Then everybody was allowed to take a first draught of the delightful, clean and healthy drinking water!!!
Our incoming President Steve declares that the clean drinking water is not for the school children only, but also is intended to be tapped by all the villagers!
